The Free Model, Explained
Free for you. Not for your donors.
Platforms like Zeffy and Teamfi charge organizers nothing and fund themselves with optional donor tips. 2026 checkout writeups put Zeffy's default at 17 percent on gifts up to about $99.50 and 15 percent above that. Teamfi does not publish a default tip rate. Those tips go to the software company, not your organization.
If every donor left a 15 percent Zeffy contribution on a $10,000 campaign, that is $1,500 extra from donors to the software. Real extra depends on who changes the prompt. The nonprofit still receives the gift amount. MonthFund does not use a tip prompt.
MonthFund charges a clear 3% infrastructure fee on the free tier. Donors see it. They choose to cover it. They know exactly where their money goes.
