Parent Fundraiser for Kids Activities

parent fundraiser for kids activities

Raise for your child's season when the team is not fundraising.

MonthFund is a personal 31-day calendar fundraiser for parents covering dance, cheer, travel sports, band, robotics, and other youth activities. Friends and family claim a day and give that amount. Day 15 is $15. Day 31 is $31. A fully claimed calendar raises $496. No team board required. No Venmo chase.

The solo parent fundraising problem

Your child needs the season funded. The team is not running a group campaign. So the admin falls on you.

Many parents end up fundraising alone for uniforms, travel, competition fees, instruments, or camp. The team or booster club may not be organizing anything this cycle. You still need the money. The usual toolkit is a text thread, a Venmo or Cash App handle, maybe PayPal, a paper list, and a calendar graphic you update by hand every time someone pays.

That stack breaks under real life. You screenshot a new calendar image after every gift. You reconcile Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and cash in a notes app. Relatives ask what days are left. You answer the same question ten times. Progress is invisible unless you post another update.

MonthFund replaces that DIY stack with one live personal page. Supporters claim an open day, pay the matching amount (or more) online, and see the calendar fill in real time. You stop being the spreadsheet.

The model

One parent. One calendar. Your whole network.

01

Create your personal campaign

Sign up as an individual in minutes. Name the campaign after your child's activity (cheer nationals, travel soccer, dance competition, band trip). No nonprofit. No coach approval required to start.

02

Share one link instead of five apps

Send your MonthFund link to grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and coworkers. Each person claims a day and gives that amount. They can give more and cover the infrastructure at checkout so you keep what they intend.

03

Let the calendar update itself

Every claimed day appears on the public calendar automatically. No redrawing a graphic. No chasing who Venmo'd what. Progress is visible to everyone who opens the link.

The math

A fully claimed calendar raises $496 toward the season.

One fully claimed month$496

The structural output of a fully claimed 31-day calendar. Useful for uniforms, fees, or a travel deposit.

Two months before a big trip$992

Run consecutive months when nationals, showcases, or tournaments need a larger total.

Parents in the same groupOptional

If other families want in later, each can run their own personal calendar. You do not need a formal team campaign to start.

MonthFund provides structure. Outcomes depend on participation. The model makes them calculable, not guaranteed.

Built for parents fundraising alone

Modern tools for a modern side job you never asked for.

A live calendar, not a screenshot

Stop exporting a new calendar image every time someone pays. Open days and claimed days update on the page as gifts land.

One ledger instead of Venmo chaos

Gifts settle through Stripe checkout on your page. You are not reconciling Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, and cash envelopes in a notes app at 11pm.

Works when the team is not fundraising

This is a personal MonthFund campaign. You do not need the coach, PTA, or booster board to launch a group effort first.

Payouts to your bank

Connect Stripe Express and receive funds on Stripe's standard payout schedule. Free to start. Donors can cover infrastructure at checkout.

Why parents choose a calendar

Clear asks beat open-ended Venmo texts.

A day is a clear ask

Grandma claims Day 20 and knows it is $20. Relatives stop guessing. Clear asks get more replies than "send what you can."

Progress is public

Supporters see which days remain. You spend less time answering "is Day 12 still open?" and more time parenting.

Built for youth seasons

Use the same structure for dance, cheer, soccer, baseball, band, choir, gymnastics, swim, robotics, or any activity with a fee due date.

FAQ

Questions parents ask before they start

What if my child's team or studio is not running a group fundraiser?

That is exactly when this page is for. MonthFund personal campaigns let a parent raise for one child's season without waiting on a coach, booster club, or studio-wide drive.

How is this different from Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal?

Peer payment apps move money, but they do not show open days, claimed days, or a shared total. You still update a calendar graphic and track who paid. MonthFund combines the ask, the live calendar, and checkout in one link.

Do I have to keep uploading a new calendar image to Instagram or group chat?

No. Share your MonthFund link once. The calendar on that page updates when someone claims a day. You can still post the link; you do not redraw the graphic after every gift.

Can I use this for dance, cheer, sports, and band?

Yes. Parents use personal calendars for competition fees, travel, uniforms, instruments, camps, and season dues across youth activities. Name the campaign clearly so your network knows what they are funding.

Do I need a nonprofit or the team's tax ID?

No. Personal MonthFund accounts are for individuals. Funds go to your Stripe-connected bank account. If a team later runs a formal org campaign, that is a separate MonthFund organization setup.

How do fees work?

Personal campaigns include a 5% infrastructure amount donors can cover at checkout so you keep what they intend to give. Stripe card processing applies separately (typically about 2.9% + $0.30).

Ready to fund the season without the spreadsheet?

Free to start. No credit card. Your personal calendar is shareable in under 15 minutes.
